haste...

The party was a spur of the moment thing. Not having one, just when to have it. In the process of making my list.. I left off a few people. Not intentionally, but I knew they wouldn't be able to make it and didn't want them to feel bad. I ran into another neighbor the other day and she's down with her back.. she commented she wanted to come see my place.. oh!? Another one I forgot. I hope they forgive me! It was not intentional .. promise.

Friday is near.. oho.. the weeks pass so fast after you turn 40 LOL Friday again!! No housework and time for some FUN!-

Daniel is so enjoying his job. And I am enjoying what he is learning. This is what I heard today:

Sarah is sweeping the kitchen..

Daniel - I'm gone to BED!
Sarah - Daniel, it's ONLY 9 o'clock!
Daniel - Hey, Dude. I'm tired. I worked. Been up early. I dunno how mom stays up so late.

HAHAHAHAHA I LOVE IT!

I think he finally understands why i don't like to run errands during the week and save them for the weekend when i have more time and energy.

He's ZZZZZZZ.. and i'm not far behind.

I am blessed...

When our house was destroyed by Hurricane Rita we tossed around moving to a neighboring town. The kids were strongly against it. My parents too. My neighbors and my friends started telling me how sad they would be if we moved.

H u h?

We have internet, cell phones, text messages and land lines... we can still go to movies, shop, eat out, visit, have parties, etc.

After much prayer, Rich decided we would stay. Everyone gave a sign of relief.

Thus started the 1.5 year of getting ready for a new home at our current place.

Fast forward past the crud we went through.

My friends and family decided to throw me a housewarming party. When it came time to make the guest list I wrote down a page full of names. At the end, my list was cut down to a large handful. These were my family and closest friends. These people had either helped us directly or indirectly after the hurricane, held my hand when I cried all those months, nudged me forward, guided me in a good direction, or set an example in their own lives in how they handled hardships. I wanted them to be a part of the celebration with me!

Talk about some pretty impressive people.

And these are the people I can truly call Friend.

My house, my huge house, was FILLED with people. Oh the site.. laughing, talking.. and just having a good time. Of course there was much food and drink and oh.. even wine spritzers courtesy of my dad's home made wine!

Good food, drinks and friends... what more can you ask for?

I received so many nice things. Beautiful things that will remind me every day of how much my family is loved.

I sat back after opening the last gift.. I looked around and realized just how blessed I am. Truly blessed indeed.

Survey says...

We've been asked to participate in the Nielsen TV Ratings. Who ohoo! Haven't done that in a very long time! I'm so excited. Yes, I'm a nerd. I do feel if nobody says anything that our viewing choices will only get worse! Speak up people. Today's shows are horrible.

thankfully, Mine still enjoy Disney, Animal Planet, History Channel.. and the like. :)

It arrived

My furniture has arrived and it's gorgeous. Rich picked the color for the couch and loveseat..and let me got green chairs. The end tables and coffee tables are gorgeous! They go so well with the furniture. It's so "us" too. Perfect. It's been nice to sit/lay on the furniture and watch tv and visit with friends/family!!

My sister came today. It was so nice to just visit...in person. I hope we do that more often :)

Rich grilled.. and it poured down rain while the sun was shining. The rain kept the heat away. When we wake up it can aleady be in the 80s.. the other day at 5pm it was 92 degrees! 92 degrees, people!

Guess the couch is really comfy, Rich is snoring away. Sarah and I are in the recliners .. feels great!!!

schedules run amuck!

The older I get, the more I lover routines and schedules. They keep me headed in the right direction (I'm very easily sidetracked!). Yesterday I had a ton of things to do. I had preplanned my day, making sure everything was able to get done what I needed. Guess my body had other plans. I SLEPT IN! Seriously. I thought having teens who slept until noon would make my life much easier. Those lil devils are quickly revamping their schedules to confirm with mine so they can get all the things done they WANT to do - shopping! Who knew all I had to say was "be ready by 10, I'm leaving and if you are not ready then you'll be left behind." Magic. Amazingly powerful! And they do it! And we enjoy the time spent shopping. This is a huge thing for me as I don't like shopping. But I am enjoying it more now than I ever did. must be the company I keep.

So anyway.. I slept late they were just as shocked as I was. They discovered mom was actually snoozing and not at the grocery store as she had planned. They busted in my room to wake me up. We just kinda lounged for a few minutes and got our giggles going and talked about our plans. They now SEE how frustrating it is to be waiting on someone dragging their heels. What?? A lesson taught AND I got to sleep late. Man, I'm good! hahahaha

I still have not made it to the grocery store, but I'm working on it. Got my list, gonna get my coupons and then hit the dusty trail. I just got sidetracked reading mail, reading blogs and doing some blogging myself.

Bowling last night with good friends and we had a ball! I cannot wait to go back.

Off to do my routines!

note in a bottle

I really think if I wrote a note, placed it in a bottle and tossed it in the yard it would find it's way to the other end of town we have had that much rain!

The rain woke me up at 1:25. Ugh. And I was sleeping so good. I did my routine walk around the house checking out the trees in the various places in the yard and making sure they were not swirling around (tornado indicator) and were not about to come tumbling down on my house with my sleeping children inside. No trees by our bedroom (yet). All was well. I figured since the weather band radio didn't come on that the weather must not be as bad as I first thought. Ya know, new house and now sounds. It will take awhile before I get use to what is considered normal rain sound versus GET THE HELL OUT! Made my way back to bed and snuggled next to hubby. MMM.. he was all warm and snuggly.

When the alarm went off this morning the room was still all dark. I did not want to get up. I shortened my morning routine after snoozing a bit longer than I wanted. Heck, I'm still not dressed, which is highly unusual for me. I've done my cleaning for the day. I even washed the pillows on our bed. I know, freaky! I've got supper cooking in the crockpot too. All I need is a pot of rice. I'll do that once I get off. Lazy, rainy day.

Need to make my menu for the week and a list of errands needing running. Gather the grocery list and coupons and a few things that need to go back to my mom.

I'm thinking this weekend will be MINE. A friend's daughter is in town and I think they've made plans for Friday night for everyone. Should be FUN. The kids can find a place to go or sulk at home. Hopefully, we'll get to the library soon and they can check out more books. My oldest is on her way there now. Amazingly, with no school she finds time to read!? And this rainy weather is perfect for lounging and reading - IF ONLY MY FURNITURE WOULD BE DELIVERED.

Maybe next week!

Kombucha tea?

Does anyone have anything to share regarding Kombucha tea? I'd really like to make some, but cannot find a baby anywhere. It's a tea that you "feed".. much like the bread starters where you have to feed the baby and keep it alive. Apparently, you cannot make a baby. HUH? You have to get an already made baby and go from there. I'm having no luck. Most people think we are strange enough with a garden, organic stuff, vits, air purifiers, water purifier, etc., without adding in a baby mushroom that you brew tea with and drink? :) To each his own! It really is very good. Tastes like sparkling apple cider. Guess I'll just buy it at the store for now. Yes, that would be the organic store - which also happens to be family that owns it :) (Rich's side... cousins down the line)

I really should use my camera more. I'll just have to get it all ready and keep it handy. I'd like a new one... maybe this Christmas. Daniel mowed the grass today because it needs it and it's supposed to rain all week. He more or less did some mudd riding on the lawnmower. I have visible tire tracks all over the yard where he passed. At least it's mowed!! Bring on the rain.

Still waiting on furniture. I'm really tired of sitting in a lawn chair or the floor. My big forkus has enough trouble getting up from the floor.. i've moved to stretching out on the floor with a pillow and a blanket.

I am so tired. I was up at 5 with Rich and have not stopped yet. I have to work 1/2 day tomorrow. Oh well. Cannot win them all.

Off to enjoy tv with Sarah.

Save for the rain!

What a great weekend, busy but fun! I think we were home at night to sleep and about 1-2 hours each day!! Even Daniel said it was too much packed into one weekend. HELLO? It's summer! I don't want to hear it was a boring summer and we didn't to anything.

Friday was Sarah's night out and had a friend over.

Saturday was shopping (Sarah snagged some cute plaid shorts, necklace to match and earrings too) I picked up a few shirts and skipped on the necklace because the girls said it wasn't ME. What's ME?? Can not ME change? Do I always have to stay the same ME?? NOT!

Lunch as a family and then more shopping for the girls and the guys went home.

I got a migraine and was siiiick most of the night. It was horrible. I have not been that sick in a very, very long time and don't plan on it any time soon.

Sunday was church, baby shower to attend while the rest went tubing with BIL and his family. Shower was soo good. Lots of friends and people I LOVE to hang with. Makes me feel so young and free when I'm with them :) Ahh, the love!

Then Sunday afternoon we headed to a party for the 4th. OMGOSH, was it hot? At one point I went to the bathroom and had to peel my capris off.. and then to put them back on?? EWWW. It was fun and something different. Saw lots of people there too. Was great to see familiar faces. The kids are at the awkward stage of things are too young for them and they didn't bring a friend so it was boring.. but I think they were really just tired from having done so much. The fireworks were awesome.. and it was grand to stand by man and get lots in the show.

Then reality hit.. we are in the south, in July with probably 90%+ humidity, my glasses fogged up and we started getting really hot - and I'm not talking about the good hot either!!

The mosquitoes weren't too bad.. they were sucking on the ones who drank all day and couldn't feel it.

All in all it was a good weekend - busy but good - save for the rain! Which only hit while we were home getting ready for the next event or eating!

Back at work so I can rest!
